The Rose and Crown is a vibrant little pub with a sunny terrace, a welcoming crowd of locals, and a friendly team behind the bar. We offer a wide range of drinks, honest food, and a calendar full of fun for the community and beyond — from quiz nights and live music to all terrestrial sporting events on screen.
We’re proudly run by a tight-knit crew of two: landlord and chef Dave, and bar veteran Molly — sharing over 35 years of experience in the dining and service industry.
Our menu is ever-changing, committed to fresh, seasonal, guilt-free bites that pack plenty of flavour. From tapas every Thursday to Saturday, to pop-up kitchens every other Wednesday, we love feeding our well-loved community — and anyone else with a taste for something delicious.
And as the nights get colder… you know what that means — roasts return to rule the table.
Meet dave
The heart and soul of The Roser!
A proud Bath local, Dave has been part of the Banwell House Pub Company for many years and previously ran The New Inn on Monmouth Place. With decades of experience managing pubs across the city, Dave brings a deep love of hospitality—and Bath itself—to everything he does.
Larkhall is close to his heart too. A former student of St Mark’s School (though we won’t say quite how long ago…), Dave knows the neighbourhood well and is passionate about making The Rose and Crown a true hub of the community.

passionate about hospitality & larkhall
Molly has been working in pubs and bars since the age of 16, bringing over 15 years of experience in customer service and bar management to The Rose.
A globe-trotter at heart, she’s usually hopping between continents – so it takes somewhere truly special to make her stay. Luckily for Larkhall, she’s found just that in this corner of Bath. While completing a degree in microbiology, Molly has chosen to settle here and become part of the community she’s come to love.
She believes the people make the place – and at The Rose, it’s a perfect symbiotic relationship: the team is here for the community, and the community is here for them. Seeing the pub flourish is what keeps her smiling behind the bar.
Whether you’re joining us for our popular pub quiz, enjoying live music, or catching the game, the team are here to make you feel right at home.
We’re here to serve and support, but it’s a two way street… 6 pubs close every week in the UK and we will not let this be one of them! A pint after work, a refreshment after a dog walk or a meal with friends, support local, pop by and say Hi.
